In 2011, i use to worked as a product designer at Marc and Franc an Furniture Company in Serpong, Tangerang, a small city near to Jakarta, capital city of Indonesia. We design Furniture Products consist a lot of variety from modern and chic sofa's, and various accessories for your living room like tables and TV cabinet, dining room furniture, kitchen and bedrooms, and lots of various accessories to your home look beautiful. And sometimes we do an Interior consultant too. I think marc and franc had a unique design style. The owner was Marc Liem ( i used to called him Pak Markus) and he always said that marc and Franc is a Fashion Furniture. I still remember the day when i first came to Marc and Franc's Showroom. I felt like i was watching a fashion show., Many stylish and unique colorfull sofas displayed there, although there were a lot of other furniture too (coffee table, shelf, puff, etc), but the sofas were really amazed me. And I always think that Marc and Franc's speciality was the sofa's design.
I put some pictures of MF's sofa design, the sofas was designed by me and other designers and some of it are designed by Pak Markus it self.
Just like you see, the sofas design are very playfull, and i never felt bored when i came to MF's showroom. And I bet you won't too. What i loved about worked in MF is because you can design your dream furniture without worry. that the design are too odd or unmarketable, because if Pak Markus loves it and the designs are possible to produced, so He will aprrove the design and produced your dream sofa. Wasn't that amazing? because almost all the company, especially in Indonesia produced the product with a safe design that could received easily by the markets. But MF was opposite from that, it was made Marc and Franc furniture special. .
But in early 2012, I have to resigned from MF because some urgent situation. But I really like to worked there actually. And I felt more than happy that i used to be a part of Marc and Franc team. Here I put some picture of my last furniture design before i resigned from Marc and Franc. It were not produced yet so i made the 3D design .
Why i random-ly write about my old work? Because last week, i met Pak Markus. I've never met him since i resigned from MF because i live in different city now. So it's so hard that we can meet each other. I was so glad that I met him, is an honour that i ever worked with him. But this meet up thing also made me sad. Why? because he told me that MF was collapsed because some sittuation and there'll be no Marc and Franc anymore. It's broke my heart, really! Even though there is no MF now, he's still working in the same sector. He owned and work as an owner and contractor in Architechture company at Kirana Graha Mandiri. Actually, Kirana was the first his bussiness and then he builded MF for support furniture things for Kirana. I am really glad that he always do everything so well. And always wish a good luck for him.
