Educational Toys for Toddler

I was graduated in Product Design Department. In the final project, i made educational toys for toddler. Toys, and play in general, are important when it comes to growing up and learning about the world around us. The young use toys and play to discover their identity, help their bodies grow strong, learn cause and effect, explore relationships, and practice skills they will need as adults. Adults use toys and play to form and strengthen social bonds, teach, remember and reinforce lessons from their youth, discover their identity, exercise their minds and bodies, explore relationships, practice skills, and decorate their living spaces.

I named my final project toys "FUDDLER" means Fun, Educative for Toddler (2-5 years). Why Toddler? Because in that age, 2-5 years is the "golden age". The Golden Age is a time period when some activity or skill was at its peak. So  it is so important to stimulate the toddler skills in this period.  The concept of my final project is an educational toys that can stimulate 3 development of basics skills ( motoric, cognitive, and psychological) of  toddler. Fuddler is a builder toys that have many different parts.  All the parts shape is  used basic shape : circle, square, triangle, and trapezoidal).  The  3 diffrent parts are :
  1. Basic parts, consist  wheel, container, handle, and pole.
  2. wodden cube and ball
  3. Wooden screws
Fuddler also used basic colors: Red, Blue, Yellow and Green. And it can build in  5 different toys : Chart, Cycle, Scooter, Rocker, and stacking toys table.


The Goals of this project is to design an educational toys that can be form or build with that toddler's desire and imagine and also can stimulate their 3 development of basics skills, such as :
  1. Motoric Skills : to practice their motoric skills : to build, to walk, to propel, to climb, and to ascend .
  2. Cognitive Skills : to develop their power of imagination (bulid something) , to know basic colors and shape, and to practice how to build something that they want ( help to 
    stabilized beetwen their brain and hand).
  3. Psychological : to learn how to be patient and make efforts.

A Great Package and A Great Product ?

In the last post i wrote about Product Packaging. I think a product packaging is the art of selling a product. Packaging not only to protect the product inside but also an identity of product itself. The way any product is packaged and looks on the store shelf plays a big part in whether or not buyer will be interested in buying it. If the packaging looks drab and boring, buyer will overlook the product on the shelf and pick up something else. So, a good product packaging is an important factor in selling a products. ( you can check my late post here ). 

The packaging often convince the buyer that the product inside will be a quality product with great care by skilled people. In general, so it is, because only serious and powerful producers invest in the exceptional design of their packages. What do you like more ? A great package with a great product but more expensive or an ordinary package with also a great product but not so expensive ? the choice is yours!

"Product Packaging" The Art of Selling a Product

Since i work in the Packaging Company, so i will share  a lilttle about Product Packaging with you . Product packaging plays an important role in the marketing mix Packaging plays an important role as a medium in the marketing mix, in promotion campaigns, as a pricing criterion, in defining the character of new products, as a setter of trends and as an instrument to create brand identity and shelf impact in all product groups. So What is Product Packaging anyway? Packaging is the process of enclosing, or containing the product in bottles, plastic bags, wrappers, lubes, paper cartoons and boxes etc. For the purpose of displaying useful information regarding the product, its contents, weight, size, price, constituents, usage necessary instruction about the usage and storing the product must be recorded on the package. Package reduces the risk of wastage, spoilage, leakage, metage and evaporation etc. in the process of transportation and storage.

Packaging is more than just your product's pretty face. Your package design may affect everything from breakage rates in shipment to whether stores will be willing to stock it. For example, "displayability" is an important concern. The original slanted-roof metal container used for Log Cabin Syrup was changed to a design that was easier to stack after grocers became reluctant to devote the necessary amounts of shelf space to the awkward packages.


FUNCTIONS OF PACKAGING

Protection
The fundamental functions of packaging is to protect it from sun, rain, moisture, insects and atmospheric contracts etc. packaging maintain the product fresh and enhances its life. So, we use air-tight containers for certain products.
Easy identification
Every producer has its own distinct packaging, different from other with respect to design, size, color and other specification packaging helps-us in the easy identification and immediate picking up of the product.
Convenience
Packaging provides convenience in the transportation and storage of the product. It is convenient for the consumers to use these products. Packaging of Tropicana Real and Frooti Juices facilitates their consumption. Packaging, no doubt helps us in the safe and convenient handling and storing of the product.
Sales promotion
It is rightly said that packaging works as silent, salesman. It catches the attention of customers, who pick up the product, go through its description and are induced to purchase the product. Self service is becoming more and more common in the field of shopping, where the customer picks up the product himself and makes its payment on the counter. Packaging in these circumstances promotes the sales.
Innovative ideas
The producers sometime develop innovative ideas about packaging which promotes their sales. For examples, shampoo, tomato ketchup, surf, sugar, milk, oil etc., are sold in small pouches. In addition to the above functions packaging facilities branding of the product. Empty packages have their resale value for customers. Packaging builds image of the product and its producers. The effective packaging is the source of prestige to its producers. Packaging continues to be more important in the modern growing completion, open, display of the product and self service of the customers.

Voila! Dream a dream!


I always dream that someday I"ll be an amazing shoe designer, pffff..I always use to be a shoes fans. Mostly girls did too. But I'm not fans with high-heels or Silhouette things. I just love a comfy shoes like sneakers, boot or oxfords shoes. Some people think women with high-heels are more sexy and beautiful, i know and that's so true. But I think we may not judge a woman beautiful or not  by looking the shoes that she wears, But just look how she wears the shoes! A woman will looks beautiful if she wears a pair of shoes confidently, no matter what the shoes that she wears. 

In the end of 2013, I decided to made my own shoes brand "VOILA" with the minim budget that i had that time. I design the shoes, hunting a good material and looking for a home industry that can produced my shoes design. After 2 months, finally i found a shoes maker in Cibaduyut and he agreed to produced my design shoes. For the first time i only could produced 5 - 10 PCs of shoes, but now the quantity produce increase drastically, and i am so glad that i live in the middle of the world with an amazing technological advances. Because it's help me alot to sell and promote my shoes products. So, today i will just tell you a bit story about my Shoe's brand "HELLO VOILA"

Hello Voila is a local shoe brand from Bandung city, Indonesia. Hello Voila has speciality in Oxfords shoes, Boot Shoes and any kind of that. It's a handmade shoes that have a very great quality both of it's work and material. The designs are a unique that have different stories, backgrounds and concepts for each pairs of the shoes.

The LOGO
The Voila's logo has a circle shape that has a pair of shoes inside. The circle shape means globe/arround the world. The shoes inside the circle that has one step forward means Voila as a leader/guide. And the last, the stripes background is a Sun or means a brighter life/future/dreams that we had. The whole Voila logo means :
" Voila leads the way to your lucky place" (a place you dreamin' of that have a brighter life).

 Hello Voila Tagline is :
"Wear it! Feel it! then VOILA! Enjoy the best luck"


when you wear a great shoes, it will makes you feel  beautiful, amazing and confident at the same time. Then, when you felt that way you will easly get your luck on your own. So, Voila wannna give that  great feeling to all the women and girls in world. So when you  wear Voila shoes, just feel the feeling! then VOILA!!! it will guide you to your lucky place.then you just enjoy your luck!

Fashion Furniture "Marc and Franc"

In 2011, i use to worked as a product designer at Marc and Franc an Furniture Company in Serpong, Tangerang, a small city near to Jakarta, capital city of Indonesia. We design Furniture Products consist a lot of variety from modern and chic sofa's, and various accessories for your living room like tables and TV cabinet, dining room furniture, kitchen and bedrooms, and lots of various accessories to your home look beautiful. And sometimes we do an Interior consultant too. I think marc and franc had a unique design style. The owner was Marc Liem ( i used to called him Pak Markus) and he always said that marc and Franc is a Fashion Furniture. I still remember the day when i first came to Marc and Franc's Showroom. I felt like i was watching a fashion show., Many stylish and unique colorfull sofas displayed there, although there were a lot of other furniture too (coffee table, shelf, puff, etc), but the sofas were really amazed me. And I always think that Marc and Franc's speciality was the sofa's design.

I put some pictures of MF's sofa design,  the sofas was designed by me and other designers and some of it are designed by Pak Markus it self.
